I watched the movie last week and loved it. It's sticky, you know? Lots to think about.
Art! It does that to ya.
The thing that most resonated with me was Zach and Tyler's need for "guy-ness", and adventure without a mother along.
Spoiler alert...
There's a scene where the two guys are joined on their escape by a lady friend. She is all concern for Zach, a man with down syndrome.
"Do you need water? How about a snack?" she asks and I saw myself in that moment, horning in on my son's fun. And possibly my husband's, too.
There are times to offer care and concern, and other times...just no. Don't insult the guy with your mothering, let him do what he needs. He can handle it.
Have you seen the movie? What did you think?
